Mikey Dangerous




Born and Raised in Kingston, Jamaican/Canadian reggae artist Mikey Dangerous has earned recognition as a solid, talented, multifaceted performing and recording artist. Voted number one by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, Mikey won his first JUNO Award for the hit single “Don’t Go Pretending” (MBoss Records). Mikey Dangerous continues to captivate his listeners, audience, and growing fanbase with every recording featuring his powerful unforgettable voice, captivating lyrics and energetic performances. Featured at a wide variety of shows and festivals internationally, Mikey Dangerous has a solid and well established performance resume. Some of his performances include Saskatoon Reggae and World Music Festival two time headliner, the recent 10-Year Anniversary for Victoria BC Ska Society, Ottawa’s Jam Day Celebration, JUNOFEST, Montreal’s Jamaica Day Celebrations, Toronto’s Jamaica Day, Hamilton’s Biggest Canada Day Celebration “It’s Your Festival”, Toronto’s Irie Festival, Montreal International Reggae Festival, the Calgary International Reggae Festival, International FreeSki Film Festival (if3.ca) three time headliner, Barbados Reggae Splash, Montreal International Tropical Festival and many others. Mikey Dangerous has shared the stage with feature reggae stars such as Shaggy, Beenie Man, Beres Hammond, Tony Rebel, Morgan Heritage, Tinga Stewart, Maxi Priest, Taurus Riley, Daville, and Sizzla. He was the opening act, touring with the hip hop group The Beatnuts, and has appeared in line-ups with other hip-hop artists like Nas, Ciara, Lil Jon, YingYang Twins and more.

Along with a well established performance resume, Mikey Dangerous has an impressive catalogue of timeless recordings. Mikey Dangerous’ music has appeared on TV shows/commercials including Canadian produced sitcom “Da kink in my hair”. According to reports from the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada, Mikey Dangerous is heard around the globe getting steady rotation in Poland, Brazil, Norway, Finland, Switzerland, Sweden, Iceland, Portugal, Slovak Rep, Spain, Canada, USA, Chile, Belgium, Russia, UK, Czech Rep, Algeria, Lithuania, Denmark, Japan, Hong Kong, Autrailia, Peru, and more! Some of the his biggest titles include: “Don’t Go Pretending” produced by Tim Dub, and recipient of The Canadian Juno Award for Reggae Recording of the Year, “Higher Than High” on the Downtown Riddim produced by Riddimwise which sat comfortably at #1 for much of 2013 on the Reggae Vibes Hot 'n' Fresh Top 15 and remained at the top of the chart well into 2014. Some of his most recent releases include the hit single entitled “TGIF” (Dub Avenue Label) crossing new musical boundaries with its mainstream sound and party theme! His next single “So Proud” (Dub Avenue) is another classic - an absolute anthem. The song is informative to its listeners and pays tribute to the National Heroes of Jamaica. Mikey Dangerous latest release (March 2014) features Jamaican Dancehall Artist Iyara in the single entitled “We Govern Di Road” Produced by Tim Dub and released by Dub Tone Music!

Some of Dangerous’ earliest releases include his first single “Rasta Don’t Dwell” on 45rpm 7", (Young Lions label); the song was later released on a compilation titled after the single. The Young Lions label later released another six singles for Dangerous on 45 rpm 7" starting with “Gal Yuh a Di Wife”. His next single “Performance Drive” appeared on the Millennium Dancehall Style Vol. 1 compilation (VP Records).

Mikey Dangerous’ fanbase has seen a steady incline in numbers from around the globe since the beginning of his career.
