Dorothy is a native of Knoxville, TN. She has been involved in music ministry for 14 years, singing at countless churches, outreach ministries, birthday parties, weddings and special events in the Knoxville area and surrounding cities and states. Dorothy was ordained as an Evangelist in 2003 with Good News International Church and not only has used her gift in music, but she has spoken at many workshops, conferences and has served as Mistress of Ceremonies at various fund raiser concerts and church programs.
Dorothy has also played an important role in organizations such as Think Drug Free America, Brothers Johnson and Sister Ministries, Jesus in the Park Ministries, Too Bless to Be Stressed Women’s Ministry, Angelic Ministries, Water Angel Ministries and Daughters of the King Women’s Ministry and is going global with her ministry and her music. She has recently co-founded a Non-profit, Non-Government Organization in Suhum, Ghana called the "Dorothy Foundation" to promote and protect the rights of children, and people living with HIV and AIDS in Ghana, and to address the issues on abuse, stigmatization and exploitation of the vulnerable in society.
Dorothy received the "Vocalist of the Year" award in 2009 from “Jesus In the Park Ministries” in Knoxville and also in 2007 received an award for her participation in the "UMOJA Festival" of Johnson City, Tennessee. Dorothy's music has topped the Charts at #1 on the Reverbnation Christian/Gospel charts and has held that position for several months. She has also hit the top 100 iTunes charts in the Country of Belgium. Dorothy was featured in Sign Entertainment Magazine in Ghana, West Africa, and on Fusemix.com as Featured Indie Artist of the week.
